It started like this...

I saw a sign: I visited the loo part way through the evening and saw this. No sense in pretending any longer: I was destined to visit the eclipse, Caravan style.

'Remember those bolts that I said I couldn't get quite right?' Well, perhaps that is causing this problem. I didn't find the gaskets to seal those bolts in place. To be specific, the EGR Valve Gaskets. One auto parts store in Elko was open. The EGR Gasket a special order part (the 1996 Dodge Caravan EGR gasket isn't in high demand, it seems). But, great news, they had a box that said: We know have a roll of something for sealing oil or gas. We got back on the road with just a couple more stalls and made it to Burley. To give you an idea of how the van is working: Tmorrow morning is now planned for van work. Success required to get us to the path of totality.

Route Planning

Look closely here and you'll see the detailed eclipse viewing plan: Didn't see it? I thought that might be the case, so I've called out the important bits below: Yep, you got it. A place to park the van and the end goal: 2 people atop a peak some distance from said van. Now, in all seriousness, there is quite of not if planning put into this idea: the direction of the hike will give us an unobstructed view as the eclipse begins, so as we climb the 3,000 feet toward the peak, we won't miss a thing! If we make it to the peak, we'll then be able to watch the shadow move across the range. Pretty cool, right? Speaking of not missing a thing, have you heard about things that can happen during an eclipse? Personally, I'm hoping for the snakes. Check it out:
