Yep, you got it. A place to park the van and the end goal: 2 people atop a peak some distance from said van.
Now, in all seriousness, there is quite of not if planning put into this idea: the direction of the hike will give us an unobstructed view as the eclipse begins, so as we climb the 3,000 feet toward the peak, we won't miss a thing! If we make it to the peak, we'll then be able to watch the shadow move across the range. Pretty cool, right?
